Believe it or not but the Tokyo Game Show is happening right now and if you have missed any of the announcements then we have you covered. The event usually houses a lot of new Japanese video game announcements but it is still cool to see what’s coming our way in the coming months. Of course, most of these games will most likely land in Japan before us while some of them will make it to the West too. Here are all the games Sony announced at their Tokyo Game Show 2018 conference and PlayStation Lineup Tour.
Kingdom Hearts VR Experience
With Kingdom Hearts III releasing early next year, Sony in partnership with Square-Enix is creating a Kingdom Hearts VR experience. While we don’t know much about it right now, it looks like you will be able to wield a Keyblade in first person perspective and slash some heartless up. It also seems like the VR experience may act as a cinematic experience too. Sony describes this as a 10-minute interactive video featuring music and visuals from the Kingdom Hearts series.”
A new game from the studio behind the Yakuza series, Judge Eyes (also known as Project Judge) is a narrative action game about solving a series of murders and follows the set of lawyers as they try and solve the case.
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered
The Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series has been missing in action this generation and Square-Enix plans to bring life back into the series in 2019 by re-releasing it for PS4. The game will be a complete remaster and also feature online play, something the original GameCube version also included.
Tales Of series producer Hideo Baba is working on a new unnamed game powered by the Unreal Engine. The game is a cel-shaded medieval fantasy game made in partnership with Square-Enix. Very little is known about the game right now.
SNK’s new entry in the Samurai Showdown series is coming to PS4 in 2019. Set in 1787 the game will feature the same weapon-focused combat that we know from the series alongside a new cel-shaded engine.
Everybody’s Golf VR
One of the best gold games on the market will be getting VR treatment in 2019. The game will be a standalone VR game and not an update to the 2017 version. Expect all the crazy golf antics you love from the series but in VR.
Dogfighter: World War 2
Dogfighter: World War 2 is a new fast-paced arcadey flight combat game that will feature historically accurate 40s planes as you soar through the skies in intense dogfights.
Kingdom Hearts III
While this is really not a new game announcement, Square-Enix did reveal a brand-new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III. The trailer features Big Hero 6 for the first time.
