I reviewed Blazin’ Aces, from a South African indie developer, Red Dot Lab, back in 2014 and loved it. Today, I spoke to the developer Duncan Bell and he showed me his new game, Skadonk Showdown.

The game looks exceptionally fun to play and if Mr Bell’s previous work is anything to go by, you will have a great time with Skadonk Showdown. The game is a South African inspired arcade racer and it is completely free for everyone to download and play! Yes, there is no DRM, no costs, only a small 385 MB download and you can play it as much as you like.

So, what are you waiting for? Go download and try it out right now by following this link. All you need to do after the download is done is unzip it and run the executable file. The game is available for both PC and MAC.

Below, you can read the game’s description, features and view some screenshots:

Skadonk Showdown is a physics charged, multiplayer vehicle game wrapped in a South African theme. Fast reflexes, itchy trigger fingers and luck are needed to come out on top. The game concept, was sparked by the rich concentration of different individuals and cultures within South Africa – most importantly the Taxi culture.   Taking inspiration from games such as Mario Kart and Zero Gear, the game is designed for short fun play sessions with and against friends.” – Source

The developer notes that using a controller is preferred, but the game also supports keyboard input. I downloaded and tested the game out, and I have to say, it is quite the fun experience. Now, I just want to get someone else here to play the game with me, because that will take the experience to a whole other level.

Why don’t you give the game a shot and tell us what you think about it in the comment section below?
