In the wake of natural disasters such as hurricanes Irma and Harvey, the flooding going on in South Asia and “countless other crises” across the globe, Blizzard Entertainment has decided to release a new companion pet for World of Warcraft earlier than expected. Normally, Blizzard releases a new companion pet in support of charity at BlizzCon, takes place in November.
Even so, they have decided to release Shadow the Fox now so players can help support disaster relief efforts around the world. As you can see from the image above, Shadow the Fox looks fantastic. You can now adopt him via the in-game store or from the Blizzard Store. The time to act is now for Blizzard and it is, without a doubt, a wonderful way for them to support those in need.
Blizzard explains the early release of Shadow the Fox:
“Due to recent natural disasters around the world—and the great needs of those affected—we’ve decided not to wait for BlizzCon 2017 to release this year’s new charity pet. The immediacy of the events, including Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, flooding in South Asia, and countless other crises, have shown we need to act now.
For every Shadow
For South Africans, it will cost you 10 Euro (R157.01 at the current Euro to Rand conversion rate) to adopt this beautiful little companion pet and support disaster relief efforts in the process. You can pick it up at the store right now.
Will you be purchasing a Shadow the Fox companion pet and what do you think about the action taken by Blizzard? Let us know in the comment section below.
